These are links to performers and composers that the Aeolians have worked with or sites we think are of interest to choirs:
The harp sparkles beneath the fingers of this award-winning performer, whose speciality is music springing from Scottish and Irish traditions.
Jazz vocalist and theatre artist Karen Myatt has appeared on stages in New York, Mexico, and throughout Canada.
One of the brightest emerging talents on the Canadian jazz scene, composer, arranger, vocalist and pianist Zoe Leger joined us in concert in 2017. Her first album The Girl From Yesterday is now available.
Meaghan Smith is a Canadian singer-songwriter, musician and visual artist and we were thrilled that she joined us in concert in February 2016. Here is a link to her site with tour dates, music, and video.
In celebration of our anniversary and heart health theme, we’ve commissioned world-renowned Canadian composer Stephen Hatfield to create a new suite of songs for the choir. This will be premiered on May 14, 2011 at the Cohn.
The Aeolians were honoured to have been invited to sing at Oxfam Canada’s Stand Up! Speak Out! fundraising concert in celebration of activist Muriel Duckworth’s 100th birthday. Muriel is an inspiration, and the choir paid tribute to her life’s work in our 2006 Celebrating Mother Earth concert.
The Aeolians were privileged to commission music to poetry by Rita Joe for a performance in the early 1980’s, and to have her participate with us in the performance at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium. We remember her fondly with love and affection, and thank her for her gift of poems.
Singer/songwriter Susan Crowe is one of Canada’s most highly respected musicians. The Aeolian Singers are proud of their collaborative relationship with Susan, having recorded with her and worked on two of our IWD shows together.
